Cristiano Ronaldo’s eldest son has received his first call-up to Portugal’s Under-15 national team.

Fourteen-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo Jr currently lives in Saudi Arabia, where he plays for Al-Nassr’s youth team while his father continues his career with the same club, having joined in December 2022.

The legendary 40-year-old forward proudly shared a photo on social media showing his son’s name on the squad list, captioned, “Proud of you, son.”

Ronaldo Jr will represent Portugal in a youth tournament in Croatia from May 13 to 18, where the team will face Japan, Greece, and England.

Cristiano Ronaldo Sr, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, remains an active international player and holds the record for most goals in men’s international football with 136 goals. He famously captained Portugal to victory at Euro 2016 and the Nations League in 2019. In March, he scored and missed a penalty in Portugal’s dramatic win over Denmark to secure a place in the Nations League semi-finals.

The former Manchester United star has four other children: twins Eva and Mateo, aged 7, Alana Martina, 7, and Bella, 3.

Ronaldo Jr’s Career So Far

Ronaldo Jr’s football journey has mirrored his father’s international club moves, with time spent in the youth academies of Real Madrid, Juventus, Manchester United, and now Al-Nassr.

Reports suggest he once scored 58 goals in a single season while playing for Juventus’ youth team. At Manchester United, he shared the pitch with Kai Rooney, son of Wayne Rooney, during Ronaldo Sr’s second stint at the club.

Clips of Ronaldo Jr performing his father’s famous ‘Siu’ celebration while playing for Al-Nassr have gone viral online. Although he’s been called up to represent Portugal, Ronaldo Jr is also eligible to play for the United States—his birth country—or Spain, due to residency during his father’s time at Real Madrid.
