At least 48 Palestinians, including 22 children and 15 women, were killed overnight in Israeli airstrikes on Jabalia in northern Gaza, according to a local hospital. The strikes followed rocket fire into Israel by Palestinian militants.

Separately, 28 more people reportedly died in a strike on the European Hospital in southern Gaza, targeting a Hamas commander.

The UN’s humanitarian chief accused Israel of imposing inhumane conditions and called for action to prevent genocide. Israel maintains the strikes target Hamas militants.

Over 52,900 people have been killed in Gaza since the conflict began, according to Gaza’s health ministry.
